Ok, dont flame me, but.....

Ok guys, A question has arisen in the Racing boards, and I figured with the crowd that hangs out here we should be able to answer it. A guy, 89IROCCVRT I think (sorry if I got your name wrong, man) Was saying that he was thought his car was 18" longer than the standard camaro ( it is a convertible). I didnt think it was, but cant say for positive. He has RPO E72, which says something along the lines of 18" length increase. I have never seen one like this, but I will admit, I never really inspected convertibles because I am a hardtop man. Has anyone else any experience with this? What's the story?

Hmmmph, never heard of this until now. It can't be. I've never seen a Third more than the dimensions it was supposed to be.

For those that don't know, T top cars were sent to ASC to be converted into convertibles. So with out a doubt convertibles and coupes are the same length.Trust me you would notice an 18" increase in length.

Do a search...

E72 was the rpo code in 1991 that was used by GM when cargo vans got the extension. It is not an 18" body extension on the 3rd gen cars.

E7Z - SENSOR, VEHICLE SPEED - DELETE

A common miconception. Many people have asked about that here. The TGO RPO code decoder does not list E7Z, but it is speedo related. Ask the guy to measure his car and tell me if it's actually 17.5' long. If not, and it comes in at 16', then he has a regular length Camaro like everybody else.

While doing your search, you'll probably find a bunch of topics relating to 18" increase in body length. Never happened!

Not my car, I came here to ask, when I looked up the RPO it was listed kinda like that. Just wanted to prove my point to the guy. I insisted to him all along that it wasnt possible. But this being the point, why would his F body have that code?

GOOD LORD! It is a T-top car too! Can you say BODY FLEX!!!

Maybe they should have had several rows of T-tops running down the roof....

I removed a few posts from this thread. It's unnecessary to flame someone for asking questions. It won't be tolerated on this forum...

Dang! I was wondering what a long Camaro would look like... and I'm glad that RPO doesn't apply to our cars! Ick!

Though one of those limo-Z's would be damn cool for my wedding... don't think she'd like it tho

If that 18 in were true that would mean it would be a Camaro with a back seat. LOL like that would ever happen.

AND the firebird version, notice how Pontiac decided to go "a completely different direction" with the "Extended Bird"

It is a Photoshop. This has already been discussed on these boards elsewhere.

I thought the bug limos were pointless untill I saw the Dodge Omni limo! My ***, someone had way to much spare time. The Porsche limos are just wrong, that should be illegal! Especialy that slant nose 911! Come one now, way would someone want to destry a fairly rare car like that! I don't mind to much about the 914 one though, those things are weird.
