trans am replicas or models, where???

Hey all. Ive been lookin all over for a replica of my 86 trans am. Just about everything trans am ive found is a smokey and the bandit car. Then there's 94 and up. Completly skips the third gen. So the big question is does anyone know where i could find a model or replica of my third gen? im lookin for sumthin larger than 1:64 scale, leanin towards 1:24. And ive been searchin evilBay periodically but as above its either smokey 94-up.

There are actually quite a few thirdgen models available. I know you said that you looked on ebay and didn't find anything, but they are on there. Models that I have bought on ebay:

Camaro:
1991-1992 Z28 1/24 scale
1992 Z28 heritage edition 1/24 scale
1985 IROC-Z 1/8 scale (huge!)
1987 IROC-Z 1/24 scale
1988 IROC-z 1/16 scale
1992 Z28 dealer promo 1/24 scale

Firebird/Trans Am
1987 GTA 1/24 scale
1989 Turbo Trans Am 1/24 scale
1992 Formula 1/24 scale
1991 Formula (w/ t-tops) 1/24 scale
1988 GTA 1/16 scale

There are plenty of others, these are just the ones that I have bought and sold in the past year or two. The 1/16 scale Camaro's and Trans Am's are a little harder to find, I see them maybe every other week on ebay. The 1/24 scale are easy to find, and the 1/8 scale are hard to find as well as being expensive. Hope this helps

Hobbytown USA has an 86 trans am in stock. They are located in Kennesaw G.A. and the # is 770-426-8800. If you call them they may be able to send it to you. I think the price was like $35 or something. It wasn't any kit I'm familure with but I've seen that kit on E-bay go for around $100. hope this helps

Yea it sad to say that for the promo models They ditched the 3rd gen Firebirds & only produced the Camaro.

(these are plastic models produced for that years run of cars only sold at the dealerships at the time)

I think I have more 3rd gen stuff than anyone should! I have many models (1:24), Matchbox (1:64), 1:18, ads, owner's manuals, dealer brochures, etc. Anything F-body!

I have much more now, that was in December.

Yes, some assembly required too....alot !

I did get some Recaro seats from a Mustang kit, I will build my second T/A model this winter. (thanks for the idea G-Man)

It will be a combination of the MPC and Monogram models and with the seats I should get an excact replica of my ride.
I will buy an airbrush paint kit and make it shine

The monogram, my first model I made, is not a T Top and has the aerowing spolier. I made a few mistakes and learned from them.
