production date

hey guys is there a way i can find out the production date of my car other then the stickers that are supposed to be on the door jamb? i'm going to be ordering a posi pretty soon and it figures i have the year vehicle they changed from 26 to 28 spline axles so i'm guessing if the production is before 6/89 then i will have the 26 splines?

If your car is 1989 and you have a BW 9-bolt then its 28 splines. But it will not matter, if its a 9-bolt no aftermarket Limited slip is going to fit.

Right now there is no replacement Limited Slip for a 9-bolt. 10-bolt parts are not interchangeable.between the two. End of story.

The only way to be sure since 89 was a changeover year is to pull a axle shaft and count the splines. GM used whatever was in the inventory until they were used up then switched over to 28 splines.
