License mounting on front
Any alternatives, or subtle ways to attach a front plate that DOESN'T detract from the Firebird's looks? For Camaro it seems it blends in much better. I never cared for the Bird cluttered up by it but cops take issue in my state. Do you keep it on the dash, as an example?
I liken the affect to the Stateside 'required' large bumper added to Lambo Countachs here...eck!

I think plates on the front of cars look stupid. My state also requires you to have a front plate, but I have never put one on any of my cars for as long as I've lived there. Cops really don't take notice, and aren't strict about it. I've never been pulled over for it. Anyway, I know there is a bracket you can get so you don't have to drill any holes in the front bumper. It just mounts underneath and should use existing bolts. Try Paddock.com. I think they might have something like that. I could have swore I saw it in one of thier catalogs. Check Ebay also, I've seen them on there alot.

I know this girl that has a 3rd gen and she told me she put her plate on the air dam under the bumper. I think she is full of crap because you wouldn't even be able to see it, and that 's a stupid place anyway.

Actually I like Michigan, we only have the plate on the back. Considering that is the plate that is used 99% of the time...
HOWEVER Michigan only went to the rear plate only in the 70's or 80's... You may get lucky and your state change the law
.
I would personally make some sort of L bracket that would attach to the front facia, and then come up. I might even consider putting it to one side so that the little black bumpers might make the plate less obvious.

I'm replacing a damaged front clip so I'm all ears as to what others have found and report what steps cops might take if you push this by keeping the plate mounting off the bumper hehe
I too think the rear plate should suffice on 'some' cars, but they are sticklers here

i havent had any problems (knocks on wood) in illinois or wisconsin. yeah, ive had plenty of small town cops follow me for a while, but i have never been pulled over and ive had my plate like this for about a year and a half i think
no smartass comments on the hood
i just put it on to see if i like it, obviously i do
edit: just thought i would add that i have a friend with a 4th gen that his like this, never been hasseled, but i also have a friend with a mustang that tried it and got pulled over for it a couple days later, but im assuming he didnt get pulled over for just that, cause he drives kinda bad sometimes

I'd like to buy one of your L brackets, when you get some fabricated hehe I took off the wrap around spoiler/air dam to work on the cooling, off for the time being... I'll see if there's room on a non-TA for that, but there is obviously the concern it will be obscured or too low.
I just got my license reinstated and wish no further cop problems. Heaven help me
