ok thanks you for that i forgot those were down there sorry about the harsh comments
so all that makes a gta are
Trans Am GTA introduced, available with the LB9 305 TPI motor or the L98 350 TPI. Gold 16" flat mesh diamond spoke wheels standard on GTA, and 16" 20 slot wheel standard on Trans Am. Formula receives 16" convex wheels only
emblems, seats, dor panels, and a horn button?!

Plus they had the option of the digital dash. Some like it some don't. Oh yeah, in general they are worth more as less were produced over the normal T/A. In all wisdom they are a up scale Trans Am if you can believe that since most T/A's came pretty well equiped. So I guess you could say that it would be a low production status symbol plus being an 87 it's the first year of that model.

Actually you can get any option on the Trans Am that you could get on a GTA. the GTA was standard with a 350, but it was availble with a 305 if one wished.
From 87-90 ONLY the GTA had the gold laced wheels, starting in 1991 they too were an option on the T/A.
The GTA does not have a second body color, like the T/A's from 87-90 the GTA was only monochomatic (single color)
The GTA does not have the fender air extractors, only the T/A had those. Make sure the car does not have these, if it does then it may be wrecked OR its a T/A.
The digital dash was available on the T/A from 85-88
Look for the Overhead console, and make sure its got the Flashlight still installed, there hard to come across if its missing.
T-tops were unusual but not unheadr of with the 350's, a nice touch if you like T-tops.
As for rarity, from 87-92 there were approximately:
54,686 Formulas
40,694 T/A's
35,911 GTA's
Produced. The GTA is not all that "Rare"
