You are correct. Norwood and Van Nuys. The last year for Norwood F-bodies was 1987. Its located in Ohio.

The 11th digit tells you where the car was made. L = Van Nuys, CA; N = Norwood, OH

Only two GM plants made 3rd gen Camaro/Firebird's and they were Norwood, Oh and Van Nuys, Calf. Your Vin Number indicates the Mfg Plant. Use the Vin decoder on this site if it isn't to hard for you.

The first part of your statement with info about the plants is true, and is listed as fact in the original post of this thread. The original questions were answered by Dens71TA and then the second problem of his VIN showing incorrectly was established. So his probs are solved, which leads me to my next question....
Why demean a fellow 3rd Genner??? I'm sure using the VIN decoder wouldn't be to hard for him, as he has figured out how to post a new thread and to reply to one, as it is proven thus far. He said why he was having problems figuring out where his car was made, his VIN was copied down incorrectly, which is an honest mistake. His last post said that there was a GM plant somewhere in Illinois. I am unaware of any GM plant in Illinois, either F-body or not and asked a simple question. So I guess it all comes down to one thing in the end.......
What's Your Deal????
So I will ask my question relating to this again. Does anyone know of a GM Manufacturing plant in Illinois?

it might not have been Illinois, but it was some state that was in that region (missori..?) since i knew the gm rep was wrong i did not bother commiting it to memory. the reason i was not using the VIN decoder, was not for a lack of ability, it was to prove a point to the GM rep that my car does in fact, qualify for the safety seatbelt recall. of course they keep telling me it does not. but i will not be dissuaded....
