Do you have a VIN? If so please post and we will tell you what it may be worth. Chances are its not an 86 OR more likely its not a factory 350...

From all the info I have seen the 1986 350 IROCs were all test cars and none of them survived and were Crushed. Much like an 83 Corvette, they made them but they were all crushed, because they were test cars, and not released to the public.

There are survivor '83 Corvettes. GM has one, a museum in FLA or CA (I think?) has one, and there is one somewhere else too, but I can't remember where.

The body style is the C4 (1983 to 1996). And I think the one '83 car was white.

Later, Garrett

p.s. Has anyone ever heard of Gm testing a Camaro with the ZR-1 LT5 in it? I would imagine they at least built a prototype of one and crushed it. But just wondering if anyone ever heard of it.

not sure about the LT5 ZR1 engine, but I know Pontiac did several concepts of cars wtih turbo power and superchargers in the late 80's early 90's. The Firefox projects were interesting to say the least.

I am not sure about both of them, but I know one of hte Firefox test cars got an IRS (indpependant rear suspension)

Then there is the 3rd gen Firehawk, Might as well forget the LT5, especially when you could get performance like that

I have an 86 TPI 350 Trans Am with a 5 speed and a Jet Pack.

I also have an All Steel 83 Vette parked next to my 2004 V6 Trans Am

The 84 Corvette was released in April of 1983. I test drove one and came very close to trading in my 82 bird.

Can we try to remember that this is a Camaro/Firebird history website and not a Corvette history site?

Sorry! I thought these guys needed to be strighten out! But it should be noted that the 84 Corvette body style had a very close resemblance to the 82 Bird.

Actually

A total of 43 - 1983 model Corvettes were built, but there were so many quality problems with them it was decided to halt production until they could be corrected. By the time the problems were corrected, it was so late into the model year that the car was brought out as a 1984 model which was run for a year and a half. The 1983,s were never sold to the public and the only one that is known to still exist is in the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY
