What does Fear Factor have against Third Gens? It seems like everytime they do a car stunt, another batch of Third Gen Camaros go to their graves. Jump 'em, roll 'em, wreck 'em. Heck, maybe they will drive up the value, like Dukes of Hazard did for 68 Chargers.

It definately makes our cars more rare... I think they re-use some of them like they did on the Dukes.
I remember hearing that the studio for the Dukes went and purchased almost all of the chargers they could get their hands on for the show.. (I thought it was 1969, not 1968, but I could be wrong) anyway, after they exhausted almost all of the cars in California, they took 3 cars, and with the parts of the other ones they would rotate them, wreck one, and then rotate in another....
I would not be surprized if FF does not do something similar, However, since 3rd gens are so cheep & plentiful now a days I would not be surprised if they are not just junking them one at a time.
I remember seeing some convertabalized ex Police Crown Vics, and some second gens a while back, but I got tired of the game show.

I just saw a recent episode where they had to drive the thirgen out the back of a semi trailer.. Sure it sucks they are doing that to a thirdgen.. but heck.. "they are on tv". full roll cage, fiberglass nose, it was a 'dead thirdgen' to begin with I would say.. and they fixed it up for use on the show.. I liked the fact that everyone did a burn out exiting the trailer..

Actually I saw that one about a year ago where they drive it into the back of the semi, the one is giving directions when the other is blindfolded and driving.

no no not that one.. The 'couple' had to climb up to a helicopter from a boat, then they land onto a moving semi trailer, down into the trailer, unlock a locker to get their helmet & gloves. jump into the thirdgen. and drive it straight out the back of the moving trailer..

Who cares...There are so many thirdgens out there, I dont think anybody is going to miss them. Not to mention, they were probably junk to begin with. Would you rather they use Honda Civics? That wouldnt be very interesting or entertaining. And by the way, the General Lee was a 69 Charger. They used 68's and put 69 parts on them when the cars ran low.

Ya, that would be a good reason.. aside from the fact that thirdgens are just plain awesome. And obviously someone in that show likes em.

DO SOMETHING
If you are like me and tired of seeing the Camaro Holocaust taking place on Fear Factor, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Contact Fear Factor with your dissatisfaction at fearfactor@nbcuni.com Maybe if enough voices are heard we will get an explanation. My personaly belief for the Camaro grudge is a producer's BMW was left in the dust by an IROC.

Why do that???
If you tell them to stop then ome other car model will get all the attention...
The way I got it figured you win all the way around:
1) 3rd gens get exposure
2) Less 3rd gens due to FF crushings= desirability goes up
3) increases value of our cars
Besides, there are more 3rd gens crushed in junkyards every day than are used on that show in a year...

It is true that there will be less of them if they keep destroying them but the people that watch FF will think down upon them thinking they are junk when they really arent.

When you tak a real good look at the yellow one they have been using. it's a very solid car.. I don't think they go through to many of them.. But like okfoz said..
