help with vin please

well i got a vin number off this camaro and it has a tpi motor. im trying to figure out if it is a 305 or 350. the vin is 1G1FP87F5GL156602. The number eight in there wasnt really an eight but some wierd looking thing. But it was very similar to an 8. Thanx for the help.

What 8?

There's a "F" for the engine digit (8th digit).

It's a 305 car.

Of course, it's anybody's guess what motor is actually in it.

F = Camaro
P = Sports Coupe
87 = 2 door coupe
F = 305 V8 MFI (w/ Auto tranny only)
5 =Check digit
G = 1986
L = Van Nuy CA
156602 = production number

So what you have there is a 86 305 Camaro
