rear wipper

i took off the trunk lid and noticed in the glass there was a hole cut out, im guessing they were planning on putting in a rear wiper when they were designing the car

The wiper blade for the rear is the same size as up front.

Many times I've wished I had that. Any known problems? Why weren't they offered in the later years?

Anyone install one on a car that didn't have one? I kinda want to do the swap. Now to find a donor car... ... ...

Would you also want to put in the wiper squirter? It's mounted on the roof. The lines go all the way from the engine compartment and through the headliner. Sounds like parts are all you need. The control goes on the left side of the console on the bottom.

Also, I think you need different hatch shocks because of the extra weight.

I think the shocks that were used for the Firebirds 85-90 Aero Spoiler would work fine.

I think they droped the option because of the lack of sales. Besides, not many people wanted the extra weight. So they put on a 75# spoiler

By the way, I've never experienced any problems with mine: rust, leaking, etc.

I added a rear window wiper to my 86 FireBird.
Good luck finding the motor... I got my out of a camaro Berlinetta after a long search (it was the days BEFORE eBay!)
Yes you need stronger socks... get the ones for the big areo wrap around type wing as they are made to lift more wight.

other than that it was fairly easy.

Good Luck to ya!
