I have searched, and can't seem to find any pictures of the base model Firebirds, with this wheel option.

I believe they were 14", and were not available on the T/A.

Any help in a picture, or a link, that I could go to would be helpful, as this topic came up on a 2nd gen site, and I would like to submit photographic proof.

Please, NO pictures of 2nd gen wheels on a 3rd gen cars, these MUST be factory original to the car.

An RPO would be helpful, also.

Thanks,

Leon.

Dave84TA:

No, those are nice, but I think those are newer, say like 1986-up.
Thanks for your reply though.

82FirebirdTA:

I think you're on the right track. It really kills me, that I saw some great pictures of an 82 base Firebird on the internet (for sale), and never saved the pics.
Thanks for the picture and the RPO

82RECAROTA:

Thanks for the RPO.

Please check your PM.

Thanks guys,

Leon.

3rdgenparts:

Thanks so much! Those pictures are Great! Do you know if they are 14" or 15"? I like the way they look on the gray car.
I might have to see if I can find a set for my car.

Thanks again, everybody. I knew I could count on all of you!

Great Job

Here's a picture from an April 1982 issue of Thunder Am.

According to the GM Firebird Master Parts Catalog they are RPO N90 and the size is 14"x6" in either natural aluminum or gold accented.

I can get you a set of silver or gold 14" snowflakes pm me.

And to answer your question 83firebirds/e is right they are 15" cause the grey car in the pic is a 82 s/e which only came with N89 wheels.

Were those rims "leftovers" or did they try to market them and they never caught on with the 3rd gens?

If they were leftover, they were not from a 2nd gen bird. The second gen N90's were 15" with the snowflake recessed into the rim.

82RECAROTA, the ones in the picture are the 15"x8" WS6 rims which were recessed. The standard non-WS6 snowflake rims were flush like the 3rd-gen N90 snowflakes but were 15"x7" in size.

"Trigger" in the first Smokey and the Bandit has the flush snowflake rims since WS6 didn't come out until 1978.

If the 3rd-gen snowflakes are leftovers they aren't from the 2nd-gen Firebird line. Being that they are pizza cutter 14"x6" size they problably came from the Sunbird or another small Pontiac line from the late 70's or early 80's.

What he said
No such thing as 14X6 snowflakes on 2nd gens. I do like the look of the old snowflakes on those 3rd gens in the pics. Too bad they didn't catch on.

that 2nd gen T/A is so pretty for some reason...i mean, i normally wouldn't really like a brown car, i guess because it is in such awesome shape in that picture...it is just so pretty...all the third gens look awesome too

The 14" snowflake was used on the Bonneville, Grand Prix, and Grand Am. The Sunbird Snowflake was 4 lug and 13" I believe.

Re: Picture request for 82-83 Firebird w/factory installed snowflake wheels
I know this is an old thread, but here is my 1982 Firebird. Bought off the lot from dealer in Pueblo, Colorado. Not special ordered. No indication anyone else had special ordered. Showed up on the lot that day. I was in town for work. Lived in Denver and had been looking for one of the new Fbirds, but was told 6-8 month wait. This was first year of pop up headlights and they were a hot ticket. It's not the best pic. It's an old polaroid.

Did it come with white wall tires from the factory?

This was taken at my parent's house. Literally right after I drove it off the lot. This is how it came.

Re: Picture request for 82-83 Firebird w/factory installed snowflake wheels
I bought some 15x8 snowflakes, but can't figure out the correct lug nuts to use as the snowflakes are from the 2nd gens and 3rd gens are not the same lug bolts. The snowflakes need a washer or special flanged or acorn lug nut so they fit snug. Anyone have an idea?
