What is this?? CA Iroc Z??

i was browsing through ebay tonight and found this, what some guy claims is a special iroc Z meant only for california. Dont know if its true or not, but it sounds alittle shady. Anyone care to elaborate on this or raise the BS flag...

I think he's fishing for a sucker. Or it could be he's selling a first owner in which case he is selling a piece of his soul.

California Irocs did exist in 1985, there is a guy on here, I know the spoiler was deleted but I don't know about anything else. The dude that has? one left plenty of information on the boards.

It's true boys. RPO 1C5 is the California IROC-Z. We have two members here that i know of that own one. This one is Dave Sauro's. He's the original owner.

Some of you guys should research the information before opting to throw the BS flag. Not every car sold on eBay is a scam and there are a lot of legitimate sales going on. I agree that there are a lot of "rare" cars on eBay, but look into it before slamming it.

The strange thing about this is that on the RPO label from the ebay link there is code 86A which is the code for silver stripes. These cars were stripe delete. Just an observation.

There are several codes that can supercede other codes. I have V73 'fixed antenna' and also have U75 'Antenna, Power'. The car does have the power antenna. So having a radio automatically includes the V73 antenna, but then the U75 power option supercedes it.

I would imagine that 1C5 automatically nulls the stripe code, or there is another code specifically for stripe delete.

Your probably right about the 1C5 code deleting the stripes.
RPO DX3 decal & stripe delete didn't show up until 1988.

I guess its possible that the pic of the red car is no longer in CA, or in some cases it might be possible to get "permission" to leave the plate off.

No permission, cant get it. That doesnt mean you cant run without it... just gotta pay the piper sometimes.

My 85 TA and my 86 TA never had one, and I never got nailed or put it on.
