Back to V-Belts
i have Serpentine in my 86 and it origionally had V-belts. i have the old setup and i would like some help on where the brackets go. when i took it off it was very confusing. the serpintine was very simple. any help would be GREATLY appreciated

My '83 Z28. Same brackets it came with. The belt in the center (back groove of the WP pulley) loops only around the WP and the crank pullies. Its not factory. Its a 36" belt if you decide to try it though. You can't use that with AC though.

it is similar: I guess because I have AC & the Air pump.
This is my 87 but it is just like the 86 on my friends 86 T/A.

thank you very much. i have a new 305 to replace my tired one. the new engine came with serpintine and has centerbolt valve covers. when i switch should i use the V-Belt or serpintine?

SERP for sure, You will have to re-route the wires for the A/C and the Alt, but worth it IMHO...
If you want to get rid of the serp stuff I might be interested for the right price.

thats all right. i think ill hold onto it lol. im only going back to V-Belts because the Alt died and i cant afford a new one. plus the hookups for my air injection pipes fit better with V's so until i drop in the new engine from an 88 IROCZ then i stay Vbelts i guess. altough i will miss the conveniance of serpintine
