T Top Outer Seal Question

Recently at the junkyard I was pulling off the outer strip seals from a pair of t tops on a 1991 trans am. The drivers side t top was broken and just had the outer edge with the flexable type strip but the passengers side was made of hard plastic and not the usual flexable material. It has a gm part# of 10165498.I was wondering if these plastic type strips were used on all the Lexan T Tops as I have not seen them before

I think but am not sure but GM started using them around 91..

I do know that 9 yrs ago when i painted my car i put in new seals from GM and the kit came with those hard plastic ones.. and I also parted out a 91 305 TPI auto leather 2.73 aluminum drum brake Lexan TTOP GTA that the plastic drip rail was there ...

It was in either 1991, but more than likely I think they may hve started the newer drip rails in 1989, apparently thats when they updated the T-top seals. Whenever they did the change Both the Glass T-tops and the Acrylic T-tops got the new plastic piece.
