GM Gas Milage Figures

Does anyone know what kind of gas milage a 90 Iroc LB9 auto convertible with 2.73 rear should of got when new? I'm having a dispute with my father in law, he thinks my car will be hard on gas. The previous owner claimed it was quite resonable. I don't have it on the road yet(Waiting for spring). Now I realize there are a lot of factors that will determin what kind of milage the car will get,I'm just wondering what the Gm figures were in 1990.I'm just curious, i did not buy the car because it was economical I just don't think it will be as hard on gas as my father in law claims (He thinks it will be comparable to his full size Ford Van).

You should easily get 22-25 MPG or better on the highway, and 15-18 in the city. If not, your car needs a tune-up, or something else is seriously wrong.

A 305 fuel injected car, whether it be auto or manual, was rated at 17/25. A 350 was 16/24.

Seriously. If we wanted economical mileage, we'd be driving 4-bangers.

All around your mileage should be about 21. I get 18-20 on a 150k motor.

I get exactly what Kevin (25 highway/18 city) is quoting on my L98 (w/3.23s & auto-box).

As I said in my original posting, i'm not concerned with gas miliage(I already have 2 four bangers), I was just curious as to what the miliage figures from GM were. My father in Law is under the impression that all of these F bodies are Extreme gas guzzlers and that my car would be comparable to his econoline 150( around 15 city,18 highway).I knew it should be better than that because its not a big square box. Now I know what kind of miliage to expect under "NORMAL" driving conditions.
Thanx
