Where is my build sheet?????

hey, I've got an 86 trans am, I just bought it. and I am trying to find out some info, I don't know where to look to find my RPO numbers, or my build sheet. I looked inside the center console, and they aren't there, so I am trying to find out where I can find my build sheet??

On an 86 it would be inside the console glovebox.

yes, it would be a white label with gray text with the rpo's the vin, and the paint codes. GM used a semitacky glue so they come off really easily.

My '82's was under the carpet in the bottom of the "well".

My '83's was under the rear seat bottom.

Yours could be anywhere.

Good luck and keep looking.

I found the build sheet for my '82 Firebird under the drivers seat. I have never found the one for my '85 Trans Am. You never know where you might find it. There is also a chance that your car didn't have one when it left the factory. However, the option sheet should be in the console.

The last post is the most accurate.

The RPO sheet should be in the console on your car. Mine isnt there either Long gone...

The build sheet could be anywhere in the interior of the car. Under the carpet, behind a panel, under the seat, even stuffed in the seatcover if you unzip it. Sometimes there isnt one in the car. GM basically had no spot to put it, and it was up to the line worker to do whatever he wanted to with it. I was told from a guy at the plant that each car only had one sheet, although someone on here said he found 2. Could have been that the first was damaged on the line and it was reprinted, not sure.

Anyway, good luck finding it. I thought mine was gone too, and I had the carpet out of the back one day and there it was taped to it.
