Car: Used to drive a camaro
Interested in a 91' 1LE worth it??
I'm very interested in a 1LE that I found. The car has 20,000 miles on it and has leather. The overall condition is rated as good-excellent. Kelly'sBluebook has a 91 Z28 with the same interior options at 6,000 retail. What roughly was the 1LE option worth?? Thanks for any info. I'm looking to buy this in a few weeks.

I didnt know you could get 1LE's with leather. Is that true?

I think you could get the leather, just not fog lights, AC, and a couple other random things... If leather wasn't an option though, the guy could have probably got them reupholstered for the hell of it or swapped them out for leather... but I never heard of leather not being an option for the 1LE

How much is the owner asking for it?
I bought my '91 1LE in circumstances very similiar to yours-a little higher mileage(29000)-but an unmolested original.
I paid $8900,which some may consider high, but I do live in a car crazy area -Dallas-Ft.Worth.

here in michigan a 91 1LE will go for a modest $15,000 or more if under 4,500 miles, after that all bets are off cause it's been driven; as for interiors, i've never seen a leather set, but it's possible; biggest options were the radio, fog light, and ac delete as well as power windows and locks, then again power anything was deleted, these cars are very bare, in replacement, supposedly they are lighter with a few more horse power, o yeah they have i believe a aluminum driveshaft and better disk brakes; as well as a different spindle. some say the front is lower, but next to a standard z they are the same height. i also believe they had a different suspension rating to but i don't know that for sure.
in my opinion 1LE's are cool, but how much faster can a car go missing power locks and two little fog lights , if u can get a deal like gregg did go for it a Z is a Z, love'em all!!!!
I don't know how it is out in the big world but around here having a 1LE is snob appeal for a Z, u only have one if u paid more than it's worth and there never driven.......it's a camaro just enjoy it.

Back in 1989 Hotrod rated a 891LE at .89g on the skidpad and an 89' RS at .82

Car: Used to drive a camaro
I paid a little over 12K. It's a true 1LE (power nuthin') expect for steering and brakes. 20,183 miles on it. The owner's manual is still in it's celophane. Only thing replaced on this car is tires (due to dryrot) and the Excede battery was swapped to put back the AC Delco. It has the ACDelco CD player and tan leather interior. It's a pretty nice deal I thought so I bought it. I'm taking a train the 6th down to pick it up and drive it back. 8)

It's hard to put a price on 1LEs. I've seen them sell for as much as $25k. Most I see are around $12k to $15k with under 10k miles.
They definitely are a collector piece though.

I beleive that radio delete was an option. I know Gregg's car has a radio but I don't think it has tape and I know it's not a CD. AC, got any pictures? Sounds like a sweeetie.
