IROC-Z Wheel RPO Codes

Are there specific RPO codes for wheels? If there is, I'd like to know what the codes are for the 1985 - 87 and 1988 - 90 wheels are.

Someone on another site claims to own an original 1988 IROC-Z with 1987 wheels. I say no way, but cannot prove it. From a marketing standpoint, this should have never happened. Visualize: You order a brand new 1988 IROC-Z in the fall of 1987 when they were first produced. The car arrives at the dealership. You go to buy it and it has "old" wheels on it!! This is ridiculous and never happened (I believe). The owner of this vehicle he has RPO codes.

Thanks for any info guys!

My 87 IROC has the RPO N96 for the rims. It decodes "Wheel, 16X8, Cast Aluminum" on the RPO page. My build sheet has 4 codes associated with the wheels, N96, P20 (Style Hub Cap), 15P (Silver), PB4 (Wheel Locks). He shouldn't have anything different. N96 decodes as the only 16X8 Aluminum wheel in the entire RPO page. I would assume that in 88-90, it still carried the N96 designation for that wheel.

Willie,

In my experiance GM wheel codes are only really specific to size and material... beyond that they aren't reliable...
