B4C
B4C
Theres a car domn here in Missouri. I forget what year, but anyway its an RS. I asked what kind of moter it has and they said it has a 350. And i was like the only RS w/ 350's were B4C's. (i havnt been able to look at it up close but it runs) She said she wanted 1,800 for it, is this to good to be true. How can i tell its a B4C if the RPO arnt there, or is there somthin in the VIN # that would tell me if it is. But i really dout its a real B4C. Or should i just buy it because of the price.
Thanks Tim

I think the 8thvin number should be an 8 still, but I am not sure, I am sure someone else will know for sure, either way, it should have a TPI engine for it to be a 350 TPI, what year is the car, I am sure if you tell us what year it is, some of the guys will be able to tell you how likely it is that the car is a B4C. The sounds pretty good, but then again you have not told us much info on the car, like the year, and I dont hink you have even looked at the car yet. good luck anyhow

If it has TPI (stock) then it's a B4C. It would either be a 305 & 5 speed, or a 350 & auto. But, the only way to know what it came with stock is to check the VIN and/or RPO codes. Like mentioned above, an "8" in the 8th digit of the VIN would indicate the 350. An F would indicate the TPI 305. You can also check the RPO tag for the B4C code as well as the L98 (B2L?) or LB9 engine code.

If it is a 91 or 92, it should have 4 wheel discs along with the dual cats, 145 speedo and like mentioned before, the 8 in the 8th digit for a 350 or "F" for the tpi 305 and "B4C" in the codes.
If it has all of these and it is a 91 or 92 then it is a b4c.
B4C's were only produced in 91 (593 total)and 92(589 total)for 3rd gen camaros!!!
Let me know what you find out!!!

Read thru the tech data it has all the nonsense on what was available on each car and its reasonably accurate. The base RS motor was the 2.8 then the 3.1, the 305tbi was optional.
