Can GM get my RPO's for me?

When i bought my car, i found out that the previous owner had replaced the console cover because it was cracked and neglected to switch the RPO sheet...great. So i was wondering if my local Chevy dealer could give me another RPO sheet based on my VIN. If not, could there be another copy of the sheet hidden somewhere in the car? Or another source on the internet to find it? Thanks guys.

You cant get the actual sheet like it was originally... but you should be able to find out from the dealer what the RPO codes were, or find the build sheet in your car which will have those as well.

Any dealer can run your VIN and print you out a list of RPO's, though once the sticker is gone, it's gone.

Jason is correct ask a dealer to try on a pre 90 model and they can't do it.

BUILD SHEET IS MOST LIKELY ABOVE FUEL CELL-GOOD LUCK FINDING THAT THING IN ONE PIECE! IF NOT THERE, TRY UNDER YOUR CARPET IN THE REAR AREA OF VEHICLE. UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVE DEALT WITH THE SAME RUNAROUND "WE DON'T HAVE INFO ON ANYTHING MORE THAN 10 YEARS OLD" CRAP THAT YOU ARE EXPERIENCING. THEY ACTUALLY HAVE PLENTY OF INFO-IT WOULD BE WORK TO ACTUALLY GO THRU ARCHIVES AND OLD FILES. NOW IF YOU CALLED UP WANTING INFO ON A 68 CAMARO - THEY WOULD JUMP TO FIND ANYTHING YOU NEEDED (I'VE TRIED THIS). I SUPPOSE US THIRD GENERATION PEOPLE HAVE TO WAIT A FEW MORE YEARS-THAT WAY THEY CAN CHARGE US OUT OUR REARS TO RESTORE OUR VEHICLES-LIKE THEY DO TO THE 1ST AND 2ND GEN. PEOPLE.

My GM dealer would have helped me if he could, but he couldn't access the codes on my 86 due to being an older car.

It is possible to basically reconstruct your own codes pretty accurately. There are 3 or 4 codes you will never find. There are many that are base level codes easy to figure out from your car. Then the Pontiac Historical Society can supply you the original invoice for your car for $35.00 that will show the options your car was ordered with those RPO codes. Then find a label like this one:

....and start constructing your own.
