624 GTAs built in 1988, and one car built as a 1989 model before the option was shelved at the end of August 1988.

These numbers are straight from Pontiac's production records for 1988 and 1989.... and there were no production 1989 TTA Notchbacks.

There is a photo floating around of one TTA car taken in front of the Indy track. According to PMD, that car was fitted with the notchback before the car's configuration was finalized for production. IMO, they all should have been Notchbacks.... but then I'm a little biased.

Original Notchbacks are rare enough that I got mine stollen! I drove 12 hours(round trip) to buy it of this guy.I paid $300 bucks. It was a steal.
Anyway, the notchback looks sexy. It changes the whole appearance of a 3GEN.When I had mine I used to have girls ask me; "what kind of car is that?".This one girl, I told "it's a Ferrari. Can't you tell?" She recently came from Russia so it got me laid. Don't tell my wife.Hehee.
I would imagine that beside the 600+ that went out with the GTAs there were propably as many available from the GM/Pontiac dealers, as replacement parts. In case of accidents and such.
I know that after owning a real GM notchback I'll never get an aftermarket one.The one I had was even the same color as my Firebird.

I got mine for free. It was a warranty bare one. I resurfaced it, and put it on in '94. I would'nt want to drive the car without it. My car is black and it really looks good on it. The hatchback is so ugly. A friend who worked in the Pontiac bodyshop with me got one too.

Just wanted to remind everyone many, i'd say upwards of half of them were warantied due to the paint bubbleing.

Did i mention the hatchback is so ugly.......LOL
