To the best of my knowledge, that number is not known. I'll be glad if someone tells me I am wrong, because I'd like to know, too. I have one of these cars, and it's got the even-rarer factory t-tops.

Any other dba's (database administrators) out there ever wonder why someone at GM couldn't do a query on the database that holds the rpo's assocated with our vins and answer some of our questions?

I will explain.

I went to the neighborhood GM dealership to order some seatbelts for my '92. The parts guy asked for my VIN so he could pull up my rpo codes so he could order the correct color. I asked for a copy and he gave me a sheet that had all of the rpo codes assocated with my car. I compared it to the sticker in my console and it was correct.
It seems to me these types of questions could be easily answered with a very simple query like this if it were a SQL db. (Forgive my syntax, its been almost 5 years since I was in the biz.)

Select Count(*) from mastertable
where Mastertable.year = 1992 and
rpocodes.rpocode = (rpo code for formula, sorry I don't know) and
rpocodes.rpocode = L98
left join mastertable.vin = rpocodes.vin

I might be picking up an 89 formula 350. and just wondering if there were more 305 or 350 formulas produced in that year. If anyone knows?

Thanks

Does that mean the remaining 308 Formula cars were 305 TBI ?

Yuo have to remember most production numbers are total, the numbers I gave are for US cars only. Its hard to say.

I am not sure, but some cars were never exported (intentionally). For many years the only car you could buy in Europe was the Base Firebird, or the Trans AM, the Formula was not exported. But if you got a T/A it would get teh Base Firebirds Tailights for the EU mandated Amber turn lights.

My Blue 87 Formula was Exported for a year to Germany by a Serviceman in 1998, but to my knowledge the 87 Formula was NOt availalbe through GM dealers in Europe.

I did some research on this a while back...

I have a 92 formula 350L98 and asked the same question when I first purchased it. After many phone calls and e-mails I found that there were only 421 of the 350L98 produced. A friend of mine had one years ago and totaled it. So there are now no more than 420.
