Replacement Injectors for 92

I have not had much luck on the TPI board so thought I would try Scott Moyer or the other guys on this board. It is history related because I am trying to keep my 92 Z w/125 miles as stock as possible but still reliable.

It sounds like the Ford SVO injectors are more reliable than our Multec's but have any of you actually installed them and if so, what part number?

I would prefer a black or gray injector, not yellow, green, pink, etc.

Thanks for the help, oh History Buffs!!

Leonard

I have the 30 lbs ford motorsports injectors and they are red in color, although they work great, have not had a problem with them, had them since 4-04.

Aaron,

Are these on a stock motor? Where did you buy them?

Thanks for the input.

All the Ford injectors have different colored tops, they wont match the stock Multec injectors. I think the ones you'd want are blue, 24#. Yuck. You sure dont want the red, those are 30# and would flood the engine with fuel. Unfortunately, Multecs are junk injectors. What I would do, if you want it to look stock, is contact Rich at cruzinperformance.com and have him clean and flow test them, and replace any that need replacing. The other option would be the stock Bosch injectors, they were black. Rich might have some of those.

Leonard, I replied to your PM so please check your PMs when you get a chance.

I would agree with Madmax. If Rich cannot clean them, he does sell injectors. He may have a complete set. Due to the history and low miles of your car, I would try to keep it near stock, in my opinion.

You are correct. The Multecs are junk. In fact Rich won't even clean them for you. When I had him do a set for me the first thing he asked me was if they were the Multecs because he won't bother with them do to quality. Luckily I had the older Bosch units which he was happy to service.

Well, how do you know for sure if they are Multecs? I was just going by what everyone was telling me. The part number on the injector is 6102 17086544. Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference between Multec and Bosch?

Well, look at all the Iowa people showing in this thread!!! Especially LeonardS and Aaron. Did you guys ever get together on the documentation? JT, are you aware that Leonard has the last 92 Camaro built? He has tons of doco that we need on this board.

Back on subject...sorry Leonard, I don't know about the injectors. You're in better hands with these other guys.

Hey Scott, I'm aware of Leonard's Camaro and even though I've met Leonard, I have not yet seen his car. Part of my PM to him was to lend a hand, as well again discuss his documents for TGO. We've discussed the documents a few times, but something ends up getting in the way. Hopefully it will be soon. Thanks!

Wow, I wasnt aware that Rich had given up on the wonderful Multecs. Too many problems I suppose.
The ones on my 89 are still working, but who knows for how much longer.
