umm that is an 85mph speedo its a canadian car so 140 kph
also 1G1FP87S0FN145281 is comming up as not a vaild vin
but ive also seen ebay post cars as v8s that are v6s and vese versa so who knows it may be a true iroc and tail lights are not that hard to swap out so that shouldnt be what makes you think its a a fake if they spent the money to get the iroc logos and stripes i would think he would have spent the extra 50 bucks at a junk yard for grid tail lights so that leads me to think it may have thouse tail lights as its an export model

I ran a VIN decode and it's a legit VIN.

VIN: 1G1FP87S0FN145281
Year/Make/Model: 1985 CHEVROLET CAMARO
Body Style: COUPE
Engine Type: 2.8L V6 MFI OHV
Manufactured In: UNITED STATES

This car is clone. The VIN decodes a V6 and the sport coupe used these taillights. The front cover shows incorrect paint scheme around the headlights proving the car has been repainted or parts of it has. End of story. I can guarantee that the SPID label doesn't have B4Z and the door sticker doesn't show 16" wheels.

I dont know why people make clone cars. To me, a clone car shouldnt be worth anything. The owner of the car should be happy with what he has, and what the car is. I know I would never change my 83 Z to a newer body style, Why? The answer is simple. The pre-85 styling is exclusive to just that- pre 85. It's the early style, and that is how the car was built. Mind you, these are my opinons :P

I can't believe that a lot of car shows are judging clone cars now with originals. For example, some shows are judging clone '69 SS Camaros right along side the real deal, claiming that " if it says SS, it will be judged as an SS" and so on ...

meh, someday my SC will be a IROC clone, why? because thats how i think MY car should be. its getting built to my likeings and when its all said and done, the VIN And RPO tags will be the only things saying that its a SC. not like i'll try and pass it off as a genuine IROC, but why should i be content with tiny swaybars, 15 inch steel wheels, and a ugly interior when just about anything IROC related is fairly inexpensive?

For the cost of building a 3rd gen clone, you're better off selling your base model and buying a real one!

if i bought anything else chances are i woulden't have a large binder of recipts dateing to the late 1980s to present day with service records, i know my car has never been beat relentlessly, i know the first 2 owners and i'm number 3. not to mention i have an attic full of body pannels now from a 89' IROC i parted out recently, this car is getting built on a prety tight budget, i get what i can when i can. and besides the "big" problems i have with my car are typical third gen problems, that i'd have to face one way or another. and truth be told my number one priority is my z34 for now, once its done i'll turn my attention to the camaro.
