Just that the guy is selling it as a "Extremely rare and Excellent condition" Iroc... but its got an RS L03 305 TBI in it... just seems suspicious, thats all...

nothing suspicious about it. My 88 Iroc-Z came with TBI. They are pretty rare to as far as I've seen. And got even rarer since I yanked my TBI out haha. And i don't know about the borg warner t-5 being rare????? He'll probably get quite a bit for it to, since it's a vert.

unfortunately yes you could get them with TBI since they dropped the Z28 name in 88 there was no longer a base model z28 therefore the iroc got base model stuff interesting though because my car came with the 36 hollow sway bar in the front and the 24 in the rear maybe it's 23 i don't remember. But that car handled like a dream just didn't have enough power. Although with a chip exhaust and better cold air intake it ran dead even with a 2002 mustang gt. so i guess i can't bash tbi to awful bad. btw here's something to look at http://www.camarosource.ca/php/camar...pecs&year=1989

Highly highly doubt that dude.
I'm not gonna call BS and be an *** to you, I just highly doubt it ran even with an 02 GT.
My car TIED with my brother's 2006 Mazda 3.. with 160 HP. And my TBI is pretty much in perfect running condition too.
Back on topic, I think the TBI was really good back in its days. I'm sure an IROC with a TBI back in 1989 smoked alot of normal cars that were on the road back then.
Now, it can barely keep up with most daily drivers and minivans.

Hmm I dunno, alot of people seem to praise my TBI after riding in it. They dont expect to see what it actually has. Mine aint too bad after ive modded it.

an iroc with a 305/tbi might be rare, but it still sucks. and im not putting down 305/tbi owners, because i am one. i can only dream of TPI, maybe one day...

his car was an auto if that made a difference, and that was with the TBI mods and a homemade CAI. And as i stated it wasn't the original engine, but it was a 305 with tbi.

Truth be told, 2002 GT's aren't that fast... I pulled on one with my current car damn well... and ended up taking him in 3rd gear. But... that's seriously comparing apples to watermellons!
Yes the TBI Iroc is kinda rare... as why order it? If you're going for the Iroc package, you might as well pony up the extra $$ and get the TPI! haha
Anyone know how much extra the TPI was?

Your car better be running low 14's to high 13's to be pulling on a manual 02 GT, or he was just messing with you.

13.7 was my best. usually high 13's low 14's. That's stock motor with nothing more than exhaust and EDIS + Megasquirt! Wait for the turbo
You have to factor in that my car redlines at 8000rpm, so I can wind out the gears quite a bit!
