Dealer?
Has anyone ever tried to get a copy of their build sheet or order sheet from the original dealer who sold their car? My build sheet is pretty messed up, and I was wondering if it would be even worth trying to get a hold of the original dealer who specifically ordered the car. Luckily they are still in business, even at the same address. Worth a try? Anyone else ever try?
EDIT: The dealer contacted me back, and unfortunately, they only keep records for 7 years.

I have never got anything from a dealership on a old car. Never!
And I have a dealership approved convertible Trans Am, and the dealership refuses to even try and look. So, I have no paperwork on my car (a 1979 Trans Am convertible).
You can get the info from getting the Invoice. See other posts on this site for Camaro ones. PHS for Firebirds.
Good luck,
George

The dealer pointed me towards Vintage Vehicle Division of GM Canada. I contacted them, and they are sending me a package with a build sheet, short and long invoices, and about twenty pages of other info about the car. Not too bad for $58.85 cdn.
