Can't tell from the Vin on a Camaro. What I can tell you is that it is an 1986 Camaro, with a 305 carb engine (LG4), built in Norwood Ohio

Can you look in the storage console between the seats (or the odd time in the rear locking storage compartment)? In there should be a sticker with the vehicle's RPO codes. If the sticker is there and nobody's swapped out the console (still original), then that will tell you exactly what you have.

otherwise you'll never know I dont know why GM didnt mark these cars some other way too that way we could know if the RPO sticker diappears, because for some reaons people like to remove them

The common questions,after looking for the SPID in the console and making sure it matches the car's VIN,would be;
1)Does it have GFX - in '86 only the IROC and Z28 did(but they could have been added)
2)Plain or louvered hood(but this could be non original)
3)Is the door decal still there for tire size/inflation - if it's 14" then SC or Berlinetta,15" = Z28(but optional on SC and Berlinetta I think) and 16" = IROC(but then you could wonder if it's the original door).The wheels themselves but again over the years change happens.
4)Gauges,instead of "idiot light",are a certain sign of a Z or IROC(or were gauges standard in the SC by '86?) and a Berlinetta would have the electronic dash
Like 92RS stated it seems GM would have attached the SPID to the console itself instead of the cover,a part that could wear out or be broken.
Edit:Well The VIN does indicate she's a Sport Coupe or Z28(IROC with RPO B4Z,as Billsblue states 16" wheels)by the "FP87".A Berlinetta would be "FS87".

Berlinetta had digital dashes. Also RPO B4Z (fog lamps and 16" rims) was only on the Iroc and Z. RPO U21 (tach, voltmeter, oil pressure, temp and trip) not available on the Berlinetta.

well
I had already looked at the rpo codes in the console but when i checked the vin on it it didint match the one in the windsheild. So all i really know is the Vin
It is a car we just got in my high school shop and we arent sure what it is. It has GFX and a louvered hood and grid tail lights but it also has the rally 15" wheels and the front grill. the car has no emblems and i havent looked at the speedo. The doors do still have the stickers on the insides so i will check those.
thanks guys
