Re: Original Decals location.
It may have been at one time... We had way too many stickes at one point... My suggestion might be to JT to see if we can actually get a special page for things like this...
This is an old thread but I'll ask since it is the best I've seen so far on decals. I have a 1992 base model Firebird. It needs repainting but I'm confused about the bird decals. My car is white (U9567) but I can't tell if the bird decals are dark gray, or silver or what. Anyone happen to know the correct color and the GM part number? Is it the same for the hood and sail panels or is there one for the hood and another for the sail panels? I've not been able to find a code on the RPO tag to tell me. If it would help I can post it here.

Re: Original Decals location.
AFAIK, only White, Silver & Yellow used CHARCOAL
Blue, Red, Black, Gray, Charcoal, Green used SILVER
There was a Gold Emblem option for one year for the Base Firebird, I believe 1992, as well...
Being a Base Firebird, there should not be an HOOD decals, it is on the nose.
The Sail Panel and the hood emblems use a different part number, but IIRC they are actually the same design, the difference was the backing (for layout) was different... might be wrong, but that is what I recall...
I just got 3 of the cheapest one when I did my car the first time,
You probably have to go thru Phoenix Graphics now, the Dealer probably does not offer them any more.
Yes, you are so correct, it is on the nose, not the hood. Thanks so much for the information. I've not been able to find that information anywhere. I did suspect that the nose decal was one part number and the sails were another but I agree with you that they are the same design. So my white 1992 Firebird needs Charcoal decals. Now I know what to look for.
There are 2 different styles of these decals. The one pictured is for the base radio cars.
They pop up on Ebay now and then plus I think someone has reproduced the ones for upgraded radio cars

i would not have thought they would have used 2 different decals based on the radio... Did the "Theft Lock" radios have a different sticker?
Yup, atleast thats what I have seen. I thought it was just a running change that was made but they used both at the same time early on. (1989 TTAs used these)

That explains the difference in my 86.I bought a replacement window for my 86(scratch)and mine doesn't have the white plastic pieces that's on the replacement.my question is now,are the holes the same?do I just remove the glass from the frame and swap it over?
OPPS!!!Posted the wrong pic.
Someone asked about the door decal at the beginning of this thread and I don't think I ever saw this site listed. I found it on another tread but don't remember which one. This site can help with the sticker on the door, you need a good clear picture of it for them to reproduce since it is car specific. http://www.ecsvin.com/order.php

Re: Original Decals location.
I have been there before, and for those prices , I will fake my own stickers. .
SPID - $79.95
Tire - $79.95
Anti-Theft Labels -$29.95 each X 9 = $269.55
Total: $429.45
To put it into perspective I paid $450.00 for my 1991 Firebirds (running & driving parts car in 2008?), I paid $600 for an 1983 Camaro SC (in 2001), and a 1983 Trans Am (running & Driving rust-bucket in 1999 for $250.00). In 1989, I purchased a 1977 Buick Electra LTD for $250.00 and my 67 Riviera from AZ cost $600 in 1988... Heck I only paid $1,100 for my 1987 Formula (that I now have $30,000 into)

Re: Original Decals location.
The heck of it is, Today I could probably turn around and sell the 1991 for $1000 now, It runs and drives (at least it did when I parked it) the 1983 rustbucket Trans Am I could probably get $250 for the metal, same for the 1983 Camaro...
Can you tell me what a sticker on the right/passenger door that has a GM symbol a a large bold R and DOT might mean There is a part number in very small print at the bottom of this while rectangular sticker but is hard to read. My other to Firebirds don't have one like this. It's on a 88 Firebird.

Don't know if this counts as a label or sticker but there is another member,Bob88GTA with these markings on the struts towers, his is a 85 and mine is a 86 with the identical colors. The Pasanger side is white(fading away)and the Drivers side is Brown.I don't know what there for or if all Firebirds had them

Those are the Factory check marks that the bolts were tightened. They are all over the bottom of the car, the rear diff is Yellow, the pan-hard bar is a light blue, etc... Good thing to note.
This is a firebird/formula front bumper decal, the paper locates its position properly.
The V helps center it and the top of the paper lines up with the top center of the bumper.
I don't have measurements from the paper backing.
Anyone know what should be on this label? From my 91 Z28 1LE... all other markings / labels are perfect except for this one... My 92 doesn't have it...
Trying to determine the correct color for the paper tag attached to the rear coil springs for 1987 this would be spring NNL. I think it was originally White or Beige??
