Could be a local sales drive aka the local dealer took a number of base model cars and added some xtra options and sold it as a "Earnhardt edition".
I know dealers around here sometimes makes the same thing and calling the cars whatever addon names saying we got 20cars for a xtra good price save ex sum of money on this special deal compared to ordering the same stuff in the options list.
In other words dont mean a thing........probably trying to make a xtra buck i guess
regards Mats

i read this pargraph on a website that sells camaro toys
" When the IROC Series began its 13th season in 1989, Dale Earnhardt was only in his 5th year of competition on the invitational circuit. He also was waiting to collect his first IROC victory. By race Three of the IROC XIII season, held at Michigan Speedway on August 5, 1989 no one was emerging as a clear-cut favorite to win the championship. Earnhardt drew a pink Chevrolet Camaro for the race and proceeded to vie for the winners circle. Starting from the 10th spot, the Intimidator would put his pink car in front three different times during the race, leading a total of nine laps."

Nothing on the descripton denotes it as an "Earnhardt Edition". Looks like a regular Camaro to me. Most likely BS

Re: "Earnhardt Edition" Camaro?
Either way that's not a bad price for a clean '90 IROC at all... I wouldnt be too worried about the Earnhardt edition nonsense, it's just a nice car.

Re: "Earnhardt Edition" Camaro?
Thanks guys, pretty much confirmed my suspicions. I too think it's a decent, clean IROC for the price. Anyway, I was just wondering if it might have been a little known marketing thing I hadn't heard of before. Guess not. It piqued my interest, you might say.....

Re: "Earnhardt Edition" Camaro?
Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet put out many "Dale Earnhardt Editions" over the years, not really sure of when it really began. All kinds of Chevrolet vehicles became "editions" starting around 1988 and the biggest common factor among them was they where almost always black and all had special bumper badges. Some of the later Camaros and Monte Carlos from '96 on also had silver painted lower aprons separated by a red pinstripe, "Dale Earnhardt signature headrests", special badges, and red seat inserts. Not particularly rare or special and, other than the later model seats and paint, nothing you couldn't get on any other chevy.
Re: "Earnhardt Edition" Camaro?
The listing doesn't say anything about Dale, it just says "Authentic Earnhardt Edition". I've seen "Earnhardt Edition" on all kinds of cars, typically it's just a sticker or nonsense add-on, and most of the time it has nothing to do with Dale. There's also the various special editions Earnhardt Chevrolet produced. Either way, it really doesn't matter since it wasn't anything that Chevrolet did, it was a dealer or owner modification.

I wonder if there was a Earnhardt Chevy dealer... Probably nothing to do with Dale either...
