Re: any pics of dash removed?

What are you wanting to know... Most of the dash wiring is on the dash itself, the power mirrors I know go into the loom on the top of the firewall, I want to think that the power windows do too...

Re: any pics of dash removed?

Did you unwire the dash??? IIRC most everything goes through the dash except for those things that do not have to do with the dash...

I have a car torn apart in the back room if I get time I will take some pix of it... Although I am not sure how much good it will do you as I took most of the wireing harness off of it...

Re: any pics of dash removed?

Am I hearing correctly, that you TOOK THE DASH OUT, but you LEFT THE WIRING IN????

Man, what a PITA.... that was a gigantic mistake.

Go visit a vehicle assembly plant sometime. Watch how they put cars together. Understanding how they go together, makes taking them back apart correctly, much clearer.

In the case of the dash, the harness is PART OF the dash assembly. When they install the dash into the car WITH THE WIRING ON IT, they then put the 2 screws in that hold the bulkhead connector (under the fusebox) to the firewall, and mate a couple of odds and ends to the rest of the car. The right way to take it back out is the reverse of assembly: remove the dash WITH THE HARNESS ATTACHED, unscrew the 2 screws that hold in the bulkhead conn (you'll have to undo the one screw on the engine bay side that holds all the under-hood wiring to it first), and unplug those couple of other things.

Take the wiring out of the car and reassemble it to where it belongs, on the back of the dash, before you put it back in. Makes it about 10,000 times easier to deal with it all. Once you have it all out, it will be OBVIOUS how it attaches to the back of the dash.

Re: any pics of dash removed?

IIRC, a bunch of little holes. The little plastic clippy things made onto the harness just push into them.

Now that you've got the harness out of the car, and sitting next to the dash, it should be SUPER obvious when you just lay the harness on the back of the dash with all the connectors and stuff lined up where they need to go. Unless somebody has been hacking on the harness itself too? Or unless somebody hacked the dash off of the harness by cutting the clips?

A little history, and maybe a DETAILED description of what state everything is in, might be helpful. It's alot easier for us to help you, if we know what's ACTUALLY going on.

Re: any pics of dash removed?

there should be a wire loom that goes from one side to the other... that is where the wires go, it should be just below where the top of the dash screws to the firewall IIRC..
