Rpo's on 88 Formy?

Where the heck are they? Not in trunk or Glove box?

Any advice?

Someone may have removed the SPID sheet before you bought her.Or the console or rear dlovebox was replaced and it wasn't put back in.You have a couple options(opps pun sorry);1 Pontiac Historical Services will provide for a fee an info packet but they have been having problems from what I've read on here or 2 Since you're in Canada,I take it from the ON Ontario, the dealers seem more willing to look up info.

Re: Rpo's on 88 Formy?

Dealer installed L98/auto? Then if the 3.45 posi/disc rear is original, the car must've originally been an LB9/5-speed car. But if all they swapped was the engine, and the car originally came with the auto trans, then the rear wouldn't be a 3.45. So they'd had to have swapped in that rear, too. Are you the original owner?

The label would've been inside the console, on the side facing the driver. Sit in the driver's seat, look at the console, open the lid, and you should be able to stare right at the label(on the side of the inside, not on the underside of the lid). If it's not there, then it's been removed, and you'd prolly be able to see the old adhesive residue there in the shape of the label.

If it's gone, yeah, PHS can't help with 1987 and later cars anymore. But there might be some Canadian sources that can help. Try the site's search feature.

Re: Rpo's on 88 Formy?

Im 4th owner, Its got the 5.7L emission label and its been a clean install, I was told a dealer installed the l98 (hard to get in Canada from what I hear) and the 3rd owner swapped in the 3.45's instead of the 3.23's that were original, so factory it was an lb9 305 auto.

So 1988 PHS cant help? hmm

I guess I need some friends in Canada!

Hey, what's your dealer's phone number? The dealers in the US can't get info on pre-1990, or so I'm told, so maybe I can call your dealer and see what he can get me for my cars.
