Well, I know I posted on this earlier, but I was afraid I compicated things too much. My basic question is: Is it possible to have gold IROC door decals and emblems with a red interior car (1987)? Thanks.

 

It could be possible, but highly doubtful. The gold package generally consisted of a tan interior, however, there are plenty of cars with non tan interiors with the exterior gold package. It's possible the previous owner liked the gold stripes and installed them on this car.

 

Thank you very much. The fact that this car either had silver decals or gold decals will determine how I proceed with the restoration. If it was factory gold, I would probably leave the GTA wheels on it, because it looks really good, or I would have to buy the gold Iroc wheels if I totally restore the car instead of "restifying" it. However, if it is supposed to have silver, obviously the gold wheels would like like crap, and I would have to but the silver Iroc wheels on the car, or the option would now be open for chrome or polished aluminum wheels. However, if there was a chance this car had gold with red interior, wouldn't it make the car super rare? I would assume it is somewhat rare already because of the 350 TPI option, and the red interior with fire red metallic paint (a weird combination of color, in my opinion). Do any of the codes tell if the stripes and decals were gold or silver? (I've already checked the paint and interior codes).

i have gold rocker iroc decals. but my rpo is a86, there are no strips or door stickers on the car. Isit possible to have gold rocker decals with (a86) grey/black stickers?

 

I have recently seen an '87 iroc that was the burgundy color. It had gold stripes, wheels, emblems, etc. with a red custom cloth interior. I would assume the same color combo was also available with bright red paint.

 

Here is a build sheet from an 89 Iroc recently listed in the classifieds here at TGO. It has the flame red paint and a red interior along with the gold trim..

 

Look who ordered that car, CPC Engineering. Then look where it went, CPC quality control. A very odd color combination!! It's like someone was thinking, let's see how odd of a combination we can come up with and order it. Heck, it's only going to be used for testing!!
