What model is my firebird?

Hi everyone. Not sure if this is the right category for posting this question, but I was hoping you guys would be able to help me find out what model my firebird is.

I bought an '89 firebird last thursday (1/3/08) and didn't really pay attention to the model of it because I was eager to buy my first car. But after getting home and doing my research for the past week I'm a bit lost. The car has the 2.8 engine, but it has the formula front and rear bumpers. Were there any formula's with a 2.8 or do you guys think that the last owner put the wrong bumpers on it (according to the file I got with it, it was in an accident back in '94 involving the left front and the right rear)?

Thanks for helping me on my quest to restore my cars body back to the original model.

Re: What model is my firebird?

It's a base model Firebird, Formulas have base model Firebird bumpers.

There were no Formulas with a 2.8, sorry. :-)

Check ths page out and find your car:

'89 FB Tech Data

My guess is it is a base Firebird. You got the funky gorund effects on the botom of the car, right?

Thanks for the quick replies! I'm honestly not sure if it has ground effects or not. Pics are here if anyone wants to look and see if it has ground effects

No gfx, the only thing is the Formula/Trans Am wing, however, if it has a 2.8L it is simply not a Formy. Somebody probably put it on there. The hood is not a Formula hood.

Ouch, what happened to the front end? And how is the underneath side for rust?

Re: What model is my firebird?

@Bullydawg: I got it for 400.

@slow_90firebird: According to the previous owner his sister got in an accident with it last winter. The underside doesn't have alot of rust as far as I recall, but then again I didn't really do alot of examining of the underside. I'll check it tommorow morning.
