firewall reproduction pad
For anyone interested I have been in contact with a company for 6 months now to see if I could get a concours quality firewall insulator pad in production for the 3rd gen Firebirds and Camaros. In the last email it was stated that they are scheduling it for production after they finish up on a few other molds. I just wanted to see how many people would be interested. I do not know how much this pad will be but will let those interested know as soon as I am informed. You can PM me and I will keep you updated with any new info I receive.

Re: firewall reproduction pad
This is the firewall insulator pad. The pad that is behind the dash againt the firewall. Mine like many other I have seen have the rubber like material falling off the jute padding and is in poor shape. If there is a huge interest as I could not find any repos being offered then I will just keep updates coming on this fourm. I was not sure of how many would be in need of one.

Re: firewall reproduction pad
Considering behind the dash is an area usually not seen, I would have to agree with JamesC, not much interest at all probably.

Re: firewall reproduction pad
Is this the stuff that is up on the bottom part of the firewall? If so im definatly in, this stuff made a huge difference when i put my new carpet in without it, the damn thing is a 2 in spacer and the carpet was designed to go right up against it and without it the carpet doesnt seem to fit right. Mine was all moldy and torn up.
But than again it doesnt seem like we are describing the same thing. You make it seem like it is behind the dash?

Here are a few pictures of the insulator pad I am talking about. Looking at the firewall you can see the bottom part of the pad.

Re: firewall reproduction pad
I was looking for one 2 years ago and couldn't find a replacement pad anywhere. To be honest, I wouldn't pay that much for it though. I ended up ordering some type of insulating foam with adhesive backing from mcmaster. So far it's held up well. I don't remember what kind of foam it was now, probably have the paperwork somewhere.
