First, look at your VIN. If it say 1G2FS then you have a firebird. If it says 1G2FW then you have a Trans AM.

85-90 share ground effects but the 85 used the same base model spoiler as the 82-84 and 85-90 base model bird. Your car looks like it was re-painted. I have seen the gold gfx and wheels combo before, but not with white. It doesn't mean it's not factory, I just haven't seen it.

 

OK...well it is a Trans Am so that's good! As for repainting it, would that be a reason to take off that tag that gives the paint code? What sinister reasons could there be for removing that tag? Is there a website where I can find the value of the car? kbb site doesn't go this far back. Thanks for the info!

Are you from Ontario? I saw on on Kijji awhile ago. if you search Kijji Saskatoon--there is a white and gold one there----with red interior!!

 

No, I'm in Minnesota. Good to know that there's another one with this color combination! Mine has tan/camel-colored interior.

 

Holy crap I just looked at his car...it has about the same mileage (he has 186K kilometers I have 120Kmiles) and he wants $6K! There's no way these cars are worth that much, I only paid $950!

Looks to be an 85 Trans Am, that has probably been repainted, that is why the decals are gone. That rear spoiler was the one used on the 85's, Pontiac didn't start using the other style with those ground effects until 86.

yeah its ben for sale (the one off Kijji Saskatoon) for awhile. Typical story with F-bodies in Canada--most people think they are worth lots of money. The car looks pretty tired.

The one in Ontario (kijji) was $2500 and a hardtop.

I saw another white gold combo on autotrader.com a few years ago. Had the 16" rims and was TPI. Really nice shape, low miles.
