Looks to be where your cold start injector goes.

The cold start injector is on the bottom of the runner, plus by the looks of it it is a MAP car which also means no 9th injector. I guess someone with a MAP car could answer this very easily.

That's a threaded hole for a vacuum fitting...for a MAP sensor. There is also another one that provides vacuum for the flappers in the a/c system and the cruise control.

Re: What go's in this hole.....?

If I am looking at the picture right thats the RH rear of the plenum. IIRC I want to think there are two holes back there, one hooks to the HVAC & accessories like Cruise Control. system another hooks to the EGR, and another should hook to the Fuel Pressure regulator. Its been a few months since I have looked at them so thats from memory.

There are three vacuum fittings on the map cars. As mentioned already, they're identical to MAF cars, except there's a third nipple for the MAP sensor hook up. The other two are for the fuel pressure regulator, and the vacuum line to the HVAC system.

FWIW, I replaced my intake manifold gasket last year and took a bunch of photos of the top end to use as a reference to make sure everything got back together OK.

Like IROCZ28KevinZ says, it's a simple fitting that a vacuum line attaches to. Here's a shot of my '90 L98.

This isn't directly related but what is the valve at the end of that vacuum hose called? I'm replacing my vacuum lines soon and I have no idea what it's called to get a new one. Thanks!

Re: What go's in this hole.....?

Yes that is a MAP sensor up on top. For your '91 L98 part# is 12569240.

I believe the piece you need is an intake manifold vac fitting (1 port - 1/4-18 THD). Part# is 14082470.

There's plenty of them in the GM warehouse. Order at your local dealer (but make sure this is what you need).
