HELP NEEDED!
HELP NEEDED!
I am looking at a 1989 Camaro Iroc-Z Convertible. The console has been replaced so the RPO codes are for a different car. The Iroc decals are on the front of the door rather than the back. Is there another way to know if this is really an IROC without access to the RPOs?
Thanks for the help!!!

Re: HELP NEEDED!
I forget the year specifics, but I believe the IROC decal was front/rear of the door, between different years.
Re: HELP NEEDED!
I read that the 89 decal was supposed to be on the rear of the door. However I have seen pics with it in both locations. Are there any other clues to figure out it this is truly an IROC?
Did All irocs have foglight?
what badges where were and what colors?
The vin decode only said it was all models

Re: HELP NEEDED!
the tenth digit on the vin will tell you what year it is. my car has a g which means it is an 86.
look at the fifth digit, is it a p ? that would mean z28 sport coupe.

your car should have a k as the 10th digit. not sure about the z28 or iroc.if you want to know for sure, spend 20 bucks and do a carfax. that way you will have all the info you need to tell exactly what you have.

Re: HELP NEEDED!
If it has a LB9 "F" Engine in the 8th digit of the Vin then its definately a IROC, as no RS's came with the "F" engine in 1989.
If the car has an "E" Engine then there is no way to really tell, as both the IROC and the RS were available with the LO3 "E" engine...
The 10 Digit should be a "K" as mentioned before.

Re: HELP NEEDED!
Not sure if that is 110% accurate...Did the Police Package RSs, have the "wrong" VIN code letter, or did they get the "F" too?
Although....B4C didn't start until '91, so it's a moot point for '89, just a question.
