Porter Chevrolet

Hi All,

I am fairly new at posting threads. I have been on the site many times though and have found it quite handy.

I have a 1990 IROC-Z vert, and have discovered that it was delivered to Porter Chevrolet in November of 1989.

The problem is Porter Chevrolet no longer exists. They were located at 275 Fresh Pond Parkway in Massachusetts, howver, it is now called Cambridge Chevrolet.

I gave them a shout in hopes of getting some items like a window sticker, dealer badge, dealer invoice, etc. but weren't able to help.

Is anyone familiar with the old Porter dealership that could help me locate these items

Thanks!

Re: Porter Chevrolet

I used Vintage Vehicle Services
They are here in Canada but can locate info on US Chevs as well. You can reach them at 1 888 467 6853. Just give them your VIN SPID and 150 bucks, and they will get you the info you need like dealer invoice, options list etc.
good luck

Re: Porter Chevrolet

I guess what I'm looking for specifically are any memorabilia from the dealership itself, like maybe Porter licence plate frames, or dealer badges that they might put on the car when the owner takes delivery.

Hopefully someone might have something like that kicking around.

Re: Porter Chevrolet

No offense, but the first thing I remove from any car I buy is dealer advertising. Why do you want the stickers and/or license plate frame? It's not like Porter is Berger Chevrolet. Just asking as it doesn't make sense to me and I'd like to know your reasons.

Scott, IMO on a car you're trying to keep stock and as it was the day it was delivered, I wouldn't mind having the lic plate frame from the dealer, era correct of course. My GTA was sold by a dealer that is no longer in business as a Pontiac dealer, but if I could get 1991 style lic pl frames I defintely would, and keep them on during the TA Nats. Just my .02.

Re: Porter Chevrolet

Hi Scott
It's pretty much what RPM mentioned. Just wanted to document and keep the car as authentic as possible.
