Im looking for the correct paint code for a L69 Ho 305 block and heads in 1984..i.e i need the original supplier (PPG DITZLER etc) and original number. I need the color to be correct on this car ....
also need to know what was painted and what wasnt and what was other colors , example is the air cleaner same as block and heads , was aluminum intake painted etc????

no one?????? are they black , red , blue , purple, orange (LOL) surely someone has an original car here???

 

My 84 H.O. the engine was low gloss black. It was **** coat thin because it started to show rust 3 months after I bought the car new. As for the PPG paint code I have no Idea.

 

Everything was black on mine, air cleaner, heads, block, water pump except the aluminum intake which was raw.

 

thanks guys that helps alot..i can go tot the PPG book and probably come up with the code.. i just know it shows black, a couple of blues etc for the early 80s i think the blue where for the 2.8 6 but wasnt sure ..Thanks again jack

GM corporate blue was only used on thirdgen F-bodies in 1982.

My factory ordered 83 L69 had a black intake and t-stat housing. I had the motor out once several years ago to regasket it, but I can't remember the color of the bellhousing. I took pictures. Maybe I can find them if you need that info too.

They painted over the aluminum intake? I'm not the origional owner of my 84 L69 but it appears that the intake was never painted, and it doesn't look like it's ever been off the car.
