1987 IROC emblems

I recently acquired a 1987 IROC Z and was wondering about the emblems. My car has Z28 emblems on the ground effects and the rear bumper has z28. Shouldnt the rear bumper have an IROC emblem?

Re: 1987 IROC emblems

Later model years had the IROC emblems. I don't know what year the switch was made.

My 87 Iroc had iroc on the ground effects, but nothing on the rear bumper. It had been repainted, i figured they lost the rear emblem

No. The rockers and bumper should read Z28 (IROC-Z should be the badge on the dash). IIRC, that was the case until 88 when IROC became a model and not an option, as it was from 85-87.

Re: 1987 IROC emblems

The rockers and rear bumper on an 87 should all say Z28. The dash will also say Z28 in red.

I might have been more specific: IROC-Z should be part of the badge on the dash. At any rate, 87, all seems in order.

85-87 Irocs had z28 emblems on the rockers and rear bumper.88-90 Irocs had Iroc-z emblems on the rockers and rear bumper. All irocs from 85-90 had a dash emblem that reads z28 with Iroc z underneath.85-89 were red while the 90 was yellow

Your car may be an IROC, but an 87 wouldn't be equipped with a 5.7.

I would have to say your are wrong on that since my car has a 5.7 as well and its an 87. Since you already admitted you were wrong then you are excused
