I just bought a 91 Formula with a 350't-top car. Once I got it home I was looking through the back compartment area and found a booklet that said SLP products on car. I can see that the runners are SLP and the Prom has also been changed. My question is I found a sticker also that has the numbers #12341431. It looks like it was once under the hood because of the way it looks. I would assume this number tells what additions it should have on it. Any help would be appreciated.

A 91 350 ttop car is already less then common. A SLP add-on would make it really nice.

The stuff look like this.

Why don't you post pics of your stuff?

Re: 91 Formula with SLP runners
That last picture is odd. My SLP PROM simply had a white round paper sticker covering up the opening in the chip and had various SLP/GM numbers on it. I've never seen a red plastic cover. Cool.

Re: 91 Formula with SLP runners
That is a rare car indeed as long as the RPO CC1 is actually in the SPID sticker and it is a VIN 8 car. Otherwise you may have aftermarket TTops. Check that out in the rear glove box.
The sticker that you speak of looks like a GM part number. Not sure what the part is though.
And the SLP package was a dealer installed item. I do not beleive that actually came from the factory nor was it ordered with the car in any way. Just over the counter at the dealer.
Where are the pics?????????????

Re: 91 Formula with SLP runners
The SLP package was installed by a dealer or by owner. SLP claimed an extra 50 HP with everything installed...

From what I can tell, cars with the kit tend to be worth more because it was a Dealer install.

Re: 91 Formula with SLP runners
I have a copy of my original purchase agreement from my GTA's selling dealership that shows the original buyer ordered the kit and finanaced in the parts and dealer installation with the purchase price of the car when he ordered the car, which was not dealer stock. It's a pretty rough piece of paper which is a copy of the original which I got from the dealerships records 10 years ago. They would not give me the original. It's got so much personal info it would take time to scan and block out the social security #, name, address, etc. Plus it wouldn't do anyone any good from an historical standpoint because it's on the dealerships contract, not any kind of PMD documentation since it was dealer.

It's funny because when I bought my 300ZX a couple years ago from the original owner, she had no window sticker but the original purchase agreement, totally backwards from my GTA. Just seemed ironic lol.

Re: 91 Formula with SLP runners
I personally do not see Dealer installed options a horribly bad thing, it is better than a truly aftermarket thing. It does appear that C&C T-tops for example usually do not hurt the value of a hard top car significantly, in some ways I think it may slightly help the value to SOME purchasers, Obviously Factory T-tops will be worth more.

I would think the SLP package installed by a dealer would be better than a customer installed package, BUT I am not sure how significant it would be.

I put the SLP stuff on my 89 Formula350 back in 93. I paid less than 1,500 for all of it brand new. It didnt come with that cool under hood sticker tho..
Now the 92 JYformula I have that has the SLP stuff dealer installed and has the sticker along with documentation..
I think documentation of the install (might b the key) 2 make n a car worth more..

You can't fake the headers decals on the door though I don't think. They are IDENTICLE to the drivers door stickers but says SLP instead of GM in the same colored print and have the SLP C.A.R.B. info for the Tri-Y's.

Is anyone making repro drivers door stickers? If they are then yeah they COULD fake these but I sure won't provide my originals by tearing them off my door lol.

That is true anyone can have them made, after all they were made somewhere once!!
So it comes down to having the decals, the parts and the documentation..
