No RPO Codes
No RPO Codes
How can I tell the color of the car without these RPO codes?
Its a 1985 IROC that is black with no iroc door stickers, but I did the research a it's a 85 iroc made in cali. The car is not one of the spicial edition cali cars but there are no stickers on the door, and it has the iroc hood and spoiler.

Chances are someone along the way took the stripes off. Maybe didn't like em, maybe to have car repainted. To find out if car is a cloned IROC, you'd have to do some detective work. Label on door showing 16 in tire size or check spring tag if by some miracle still there. My 85 also has the color code on a metal plate on top of the radiator. You might be able to see if you have a non-IROC original color listed. There was a decal delete option, but it started 3 years later than ours, so no chance there
Re: No RPO Codes

Man i can feel your excitement from here. Enjoy. Cool that you still had original console top. Well the IROC decals had to be on it once upon a time, unless your original owner too delivery w/o em, like the 4.3 mile guy did. Hope you checked out that thread already.

Awesome you found the B4Z RPO. Now does the VIN on the RPO label (or SPID) match the VIN on your car? That would confirm it.
Regarding not having the IROCZ decals, there was a stripe/decal delete opton offered on the IROCZ (RPO DX3). However, that started in '88. That means yours should have had them at one time. The most common reason for them to go missing is when someone has the car repainted and doesn't bother to replace them. Should you ever want to replace them, they are easy to find online. http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/ is a good source.
