Yes its real but there is nothing rare about it. Every manual trans 3rd-gen came with one. The manual trans steering column has a key release lever for turning the ignition cylinder to the "LOCK" position and removing the key.

Re: 3rd gen stick shift steering column!!!!
When I first read the title of the message, I thought it was referring to a third gen with a "column shift" steering wheel. Which would have been odd if it were true.

Re: 3rd gen stick shift steering column!!!!
Would that work correctly in my car? I have an '85 z28, but I don't have delay wipers and I originally had cruise control (but removed it, just not the wires and controls in the column), and if it doesn't have cruise control controls, will that still directly plug in to my car and function correcectly?
Edit: btw, I have an auto
Edit #2: I asked the seller, no cruise control.
