There really isn't much that can be changed on the body to improve the looks of thirdgens... All the bolt on plastic in the world just makes them fugly. The performance without all the cosmetic nonsense would make a cooler car.

 

The IMSA fenders are cool. The hood is not!

 

Wow, and all I thought the 80's gave us was big hair and bad music, but, wow.

i'm at work and i cant enlarge the pictures enough, does it say how much power it was making?

 

I spoke to Joel Rosen a few years ago and he said that there weren't many of the 80s models made. He also said that the option list was wide open and no two cars were alike. Car owners brought their cars to Motion Performance and ran down a checklist of options of what they wanted. He couldn't provide me a listing or documentation on the different Phases since every car was different. He likened it to people taking their cars in today and listing everything they wanted, exhaust, tune, supercharger, lowering springs, etc.

 

I have an old hot rod mag here from 82 or 83 and it has the ad in it for the motorized headlight covers, I'll see if I can find it and scan it

Not the prettiest car but I have only heard of them before this thread. Nice to finally see some photos and documentaion. Definately wild.
