From Russia with love
the dream of my childhood is camaro. all cars look like tanks in our country.to find such a car in good state is unreal. because there was no choice, so i had to buy the first thing that came across. with spare parts on the car we do everything so badly dismantle dead cars and we order from the states. high prices for spare parts so to save money on all that is possible)
at the moment the car razed to the ground. Salon removed for constriction in light skin. surprisingly rust was not enough, a small hole under the driver's feet. part of the floor cut out and replaced. master engaged the hood, making the air intake and increases the spoiler.

Welcome to the board!
We here in the U.S. take the widespread availability of parts for our cars for granted. I can only imagine how difficult it is for someone in Russia to get parts for older American cars!
When these cars were built, our countries were not exactly allies. Therefore I would assume that there was no exporting of cars or parts to the U.S.S.R. It would be interesting to know how your car ended up in Russia.
Good luck with the project!

Wow, that's a hell of a project. Welcome to the board, and let us know if you need anything. I'm sure some people in the classifieds section would be willing to ship parts you might need.

Вау)) Привет! с движком пока ничего. хотя есть желание поставить надув. занизить хотел, вот только как это грамотно сделать не знаю. и с выхлопом что-нибудь намудрить.

Re: From Russia with love
похоже что барабанные тормоза, надо их разобрать и плоскогубцами можно отцепить. Занизить грамотно дорого, можно пол кольца с пружины срезать. С движком проще турбо надув или поставить V8

Very nice progress! It's awesome to see someone from a land so far away with the same love we have for our Camaro's! I'm subscribed to this thread, best of luck with your car! Are you keeping the 2.8 V6? It's reliable engine but it's not very powerful. I think a 305 or 350 tuned port would be an awesome engine for your car!

Re: From Russia with love
I can see why it might be hard to swap the motor, even if he wanted to. I'm not sure where he lives, but unless he has another sbc donor car of some kind available, it might be hard to do a swap over there. I'm not sure about the availability of parts or not, but He'd not only need an engine, but a bell housing, torque converter, etc.
Stalin, I'm looking forward to seeing how the car turns out. From the looks of it, your Camaro is a very good investment on your part.

Re: From Russia with love
It would be hard to find one but not impossible. Probably the best option either turbo it or find a 3.4l v6 and then possibly turbo it.

Re: From Russia with love
I know importing cars is based off engine size. is there a yearly registration? is registration also based off engine size?
I have a russian friend that goes back once in a while to visit family, we talk cars alot at work and he tells me to import a car with a chevy 350 in it would cost around 10k in fees alone!

Re: From Russia with love
It is very sad that Russia wants so much money to send car with customs! My love is with 8 cylinder engines. I guess I will have to build my second love, Honda. In America we build Honda 1.6L-2.4L engines with 200-1,500 horsepower! I don't know the reason it costs so much for customs, in America it is an abosolutely other situation. Good luck on your build, post pictures!

Wow it's awsome to see a third gen being restored in another country. I seen one in Kuwait when we were training to head into Iraq, but it had bullet holes all over the poor thing. It was a 90-92 Z28, I was very sad to see it
