what year is this instrument panel from?
I am figuring it is from 86-89 camaros with the 305 or 350 tpi?
I got this as a backup when I bought my Z28 but mine has the 85 mph speedo and 5k redline.
Thanks!

Re: what year is this instrument panel from?
The instrument cluster you have there appears to be out of a 88 IROC with either the TBI or TPI 305 as it has the 115 mph speedometer. The thing that is puzzling me is that the tach has a 6000 rpm redline instead of 5000 or 5500 which is most common. I'm not sure but this could be out of a 1LE or B4C optioned car making it pretty cool and rare! Maybe someone else can give you more info!
Hope that helps.

I am almost sure it is not from a B4C due to the B4C's had the yellow lettering.
I am guessing it is an 87-89 350 tpi car.
Anyone else know???

Re: what year is this instrument panel from?
The only reason I don't think it's out of a 5.7 is because of the 115mph top speed. I have to admit that I am not familiar with the yellow lettering on pre 90's camaro's/B4C's, can you explain, I'm interested!

Im almost pretty sure its from a 88-89 v6 coupe, cause the v6 would red line alot higher than the v8.

Yeah, V6 for sure...I'm unaware of any pre-LS1 F-Body V8s (with the exception of the 69 Z28) that revved to 6,000 rpm.

Re: what year is this instrument panel from?
My guess goes to 89 V6 car. From what I can see, the oil pressure gauge is part of the tach face and not a separate piece, and 89 was the only year in which that was like that. On all older setups, the oil pressure face was a separate piece of metal from the tach face.

Re: what year is this instrument panel from?
I have a 1985 Z28 and a 1985 IrocZ28 both have LB9/Auto and original 85 MPH speedometers. The tachs in both redline at 5500, which I think was only on 1985 LB9 setups. The needles on all the gauges are stepped and not tapered as noted above. If the info is correct, the 85MPH/5500Redline tachs have different stepped needles than other 85-86 gauge clusters with tapered needles. Can anyone else check to confirm this?

Re: what year is this instrument panel from?
I have an original 88 Iroc convertible with the LB9/Auto/G92 and it came stock with the 145MPH speedo/5000 redline tach/and the oil guage is part of the tach face not a separate gauge.

Thanks for all the input.
I did not think this cluster would create this much talk.
Thanks to all of you!!!

Re: what year is this instrument panel from?
That's weird because I had an '89 that was LB9/5peed/non-G92, it had the 115mph speedo with the 5500 redline tach. G92 must have got you the 145mph, while the 5speed must have got the 5500 redline. Or maybe it was just a difference between the '88 and '89 model years.

thanks for the info once i get the car ill get pics up of this new one and my other 88
Re: what year is this instrument panel from?
As was mentioned in your other post, the car's cluster was probably swapped out. The car is a 350 and should have the 145. Makes perfect sense.
