Welcome to TGO. BTW, a search on site will generally provide the info you're looking for. As you can imagine, there's not much that hasn't been asked an answered.

Re: Identifying a 91 1LE Camaro Z28
To eliminate the car as a 1LE, you could always check the brakes, which look like the ones in my vbGarage (click on the icon next to my online status to see pics if you're interested). The 1LE would also have an alum drive shaft. If the car doesn't have those....

I tried compnine and it doesnt seem to tell you exactly what you're car is just what it could possibly have, is that about right?
Re: Identifying a 91 1LE Camaro Z28
How about providing us some details about the car. What year, what model, etc. Just because it's a hardtop, manual with no options does not make it a 1LE. Especially if it doesn't fall in the 1LE manufacturing years. Check the center console (84-91) or rear lockable compartment (91-92) for the SPID label that has all of the RPO codes. Look for the RPO 1LE. If the car isn't an IROC-Z or Z28, then it isn't a 1LE.

1LE means dual piston aluminum calipers with almost 1" larger rotors on the front brakes. If the brake calipers are rusty, they're cast iron and the car isn't a 1LE.

I checked the center console and rear compartment and nothing was in either, it didnt even look like something was removed. Just bare plastic honestly. Its a 91 z28, w/o a/c, 145mph speedo, 5500 tach, has the large wing.

Re: Identifying a 91 1LE Camaro Z28
Call me crazy but I dont understand that site, all I see is how many vehicles had each option. What tells you that is a 1le?
Re: Identifying a 91 1LE Camaro Z28
1LE is part of the RPO codes associated with your specific VIN.
As far as the Compnine site, it is showing RPO codes associated with your particular VIN and showing a rough quantity of production per RPO code. The top section that lists all the RPO codes would be applicable to your specific VIN. The bottom section lists all RPO codes for that model year. There is a difference between the two! The top section shows the vehicle is an 1LE without C60 (A/C).
They are showing about 469 1LE equipped Camaros for 1991, while our data shows 478 1LE equipped Camaros. Compnine's data is not 100% complete.
If you still have doubts, you can order a report (for a fee) that should also show it as a 1LE equipped Camaro.

Re: Identifying a 91 1LE Camaro Z28
Hi James I could understand such reserve. However, he gave me the VIN and it does have the 1LE RPO code attached to the VIN. Also does not show A/C and shows a few other deletes. As long as the VIN is of the car he is looking at, it appears authentic.

I verified the brakes, driveshaft, dual cats tonight and they all seem to match.
