it's cool that no matter how many changes I make to my car, I can always look back and see that this is how it looked when it was brand new

kind of like a baseline..

here it is now...

Re: cool postcard

Sharp. The red stripe (and bowtie) set the car off very nicely--as do the black wheels.

Re: cool postcard

^^^Lol.

The silver centercaps in the original look odd to me, like they are unfinished or something.

Re: cool postcard

Yeah I saw that his are silver. Seems the ones I see are always black like ours. Granted, I need new center logos as mine are weathered to pure silver.

I do have to say too, that the stock tires the RS came with look terrible.

Re: cool postcard

It's funny puma... your car in stock form looks amazing... the color is practically electric.

My car (at least the grey car shown in the original postcard) is drab and boring... But add a few changes, like black wheels, stripes, and that one blood red stripe running down the side, and it makes a huge difference

I know I probably offend some of the originality gurus, but I've said it before... It's a base model RS with a v6... I can't do much to HURT its value... anything I do to it is going to improve the car!

Re: cool postcard

Thanks, even at 15 years old there was just something about it that made me think, "Yep, this is the car for me."

I agree, the gray shown in the post card looks about as 1980s boring as can be, though I still think it's nice. Yours definitely is more pleasing to the eye with the accents.

I too will likely forego a set of aftermarket rims this fall and sign up for another set of the radial T/As...

by the way, you may not know this, but the reason they are silver is not weathering... the original emblems were a acrylic emblem on top of a metal disc. when the emblem got old the glue holding them together gave up the ghost, letting the plastic part spin off into oblivion, laving you and I with the silver disc...

I have a new set ready to put on.. but I kind of like the silver with my wheels... can't decide

Re: cool postcard

yep, that's all the remains when the black disc falls off... have you ever used compound on the metal? the end up looking pretty nice!

Re: cool postcard

No, I should really just order up a new set of NOS ones, they go regularly for $75 on ebay for "Buy it Now".

Re: cool postcard

The argent caps with the black background and silver Camaro logo were first used on the 88 Sport Coupe. That's where you'll usually see them. Every RS I've ever seen with the 15" wheels came with the black caps, and the black trim around the lug nuts, or the color matched wheels with black caps.
