Re: Is it rare?

First, you need to verify that it is a 350, not a 305. Chevrolet NEVER made a 350 with a 5 speed. If it is, in fact, a 350, then either the motor or the trans has been swapped. Run the vin number, and check the numbers on the back drivers side of the block.

I guess the rpo codes or vin would be the way to go and even if the motor was swapped is it wort it for 700 $ runnin with 7 cyl and bad cluch he says it doesnt go in any gear wht could that be ?

Even if the clutch is shot, you still should be able to go through the gears, i think. I would be suspicious that the trans needs a rebuild.

If the body is nice and straight, 700 is probably a pretty good deal even with the mechanical problems.

Re: Is it rare?

7 cylinders, wasted tranny, wasted clutch, wasted body, surely wasted interior and wiring for that wasted motor, because nobody ever cares about the interior.

I also bet the motor has 48k, not the body.

Sounds like yet another thirdgen pile of junk, I'd pass. No, it's not rare, it's a motor-swapped pile that will probably never be worth more than $700 unless someone comes along with $20k to put into it and has a reason to do so.

Re: Is it rare?

I paid $600 for my black 91 z-28. It's hard top, 5 speed, G92 with factory 3:42. When I bought it, the original 305 was blown and it needed paint (still does lol). If the body is in good shape and the interior is ok, just look for rust on the body ,under the car and under the carpet. If there is no rust or minimal surface rust then I say it's worth it. If it is a "project car" the buy it. Work on her when the money comes and make it something your proud of.

Re: Is it rare?

1) No 350 Camaros with a 5 speed were made/sold
2) No T-top 350 camaros after 1989 Model Yearl
3) Plenty of 305/M5/T-top cars out there, probably what it is... If it is a Factory T-top then it would not be a G92 for 90-92

Re: Is it rare?

Im pretty sure it didnt come stock with a 350 its probabley been swapped. And 700 is too much what he is asking with that money you can get a little reliable car, talk him down to 500
