Any value in these?

I pulled off a pair of original Bilstien-Delco rear shocks off my 87 IROC and replaced them with Koni's. The driver side is blown, the passenger side is still ok. I know Bilstien will rebuild these shocks if someone wanted to have that done. Is there is any value in these to a collector? I just don't want to junk them in case someone out there might be looking for a set.

I have a pair so I'd be interested in hearing the answer also. For being on the car so long they didn't feel that much different than the pair that replaced them.

Re: Any value in these?

I too have an original set of Delco/Bilsteins from my 85 IROC-Z that I was planning on removing this spring for some new ones. The back end of the Camaro right now is very bouncy.

So if they are valuable to anybody, Ill save mine for them!

Yes Bilstein shocks was one of the unique items of the IROC-Z package.

Were they front/rear in yellow or rear only?

Re: Any value in these?

Front struts were just plain black Delcos, but the rear shocks were yellow Delco Bilsteins. Around 87 or so the rear Bilsteins changed from yellow to black.

They were always called modified MacPherson struts, which were black. The Bilstein shocks on my 87 are yellow.

Re: Any value in these?

Ok maybe its my imagination then, or I had some mis-information, but I thought I heard or read that the Bilsteins ended up being black towards the final years of the IROC-Z era.

Sorry about that folks.

Re: Any value in these?

Was the delco name just badge engineering on a regular bilstein shock, or did delco have some special specs for the delco/bilstein? (I remember when Honda put their name on an Isuzu, and dodge on mitsubishi.)

Are these the same as the shocks that bilstein sells new today?

Re: Any value in these?

They were slightly modified with Delco specs, according to period road tests. Indeed, 88 has yellow ones, as mine on the IROC are yellow. I wonder why Pontiac didn't get them as well...my 88 WS6 car obviously does not have them...
